دوره LPIC-1 نخستین دوره آموزشی لینوکس موسسه (LPI) است.

اهداف دوره

دانشجویان در پایان دوره مهارت‌های لازم برای تعمیر و نگهداری یک سیستم به کمک خط فرمان، نصب و پیکربندی یک کامپیوتر دارای سیستم عامل گنو/لینوکس و پیکربندی‌های اولیه شبکه را خواهند آموخت.
همچنین دانشجویان با مفاهیم پایه‌ای مانند درک معماری سیستم‌عامل گنو/لینوکس؛ نصب و نگهداری یک کلاینت گنو/لینوکس؛ توانایی کار با محیط دستوری گنو/لینوکس شامل دستورات رایج GNU و Unix؛ مدیریت فایل‌ها و ارایه دسترسی مناسب به کاربران و پشتیبان‌گیری و بازگرداندن فایل‌ها آشنا خواهند شد.

برای دریافت گواهی LPIC-1، دانشجو باید مهارت های زیر را دارا باشد:
درک معماری سیستم گنو/لینوکس؛
نصب و نگهداری یک کامپیوتر با سیستم عامل گنو/لینوکس، از جمله راه اندازی X11
کار در خط فرمان گنو/لینوکس، از جمله دستورات رایج گنو و یونیکس.
مدیریت فایل ها و مجوزهای دسترسی و همچنین امنیت اولیه سیستم عامل گنو/لینوکس.
و انجام کارهای تعمیر و نگهداری: کمک به کاربران، افزودن کاربران، پشتیبان گیری و بازیابی، خاموش کردن و راه اندازی مجدد.
